Ferndale, Washington (September 16, 2024) — The USA Women's Eagles Fifteens National Team will be in the Pacific Northwest from September 16-21, 2024, training at the deWilde Rugby & Polo Fields The team is preparing for competition in the upcoming World Rugby WXV1 series where the US will be playing England, France and Ireland in Vancouver, British Columbia over the 4 weeks following the camp and Sunday scrimmage with Canada.

The Women’s Eagles visit marks another significant moment for Chuckanut Rugby Club and the deWilde Rugby & Polo Fields. It underscores the growing prominence of women's rugby in the United States and the Pacific Northwest region's commitment to supporting elite athletes.

“We’re beyond excited to welcome the USA Women's Eagles to our home pitch,” said Kellen Wiggins, President of Chuckanut Bay Rugby Club. “This camp is a unique chance for our community to see elite rugby up close and to celebrate the growth of the women’s game in the U.S. We hope the Eagles feel the full support of our region as they prepare for their upcoming international competition.”

The Eagles will be training throughout the week at deWilde Rugby & Polo Fields with a training session open to media at WCC Orca Fields in Bellingham on Saturday September 21, where they will host an informal meet & greet at around 11am.

"We are very much looking forward to our time in Ferndale, with an opportunity to prepare and connect with the Pacific Northwest community," said Sione Fukofuka, Head Coach of the USA Women's Eagles Fifteens National Team. "We appreciate the support and look forward to a very valuable scrimmage against Canada, as we head into our WXV1 campaign."

In May 2024, deWilde hosted USA Rugby U20 Men’s Fifteens program ahead of their test matches versus Canada to qualify for the World Rugby Trophy competition. Providing a world class experience for the National Teams is a focus for deWilde and Chuckanut Bay Rugby looks forward to hosting more professional rugby training in the future.
