Chuckanut Alumn in This Weekend's PR7s All-Star Tournament

Chuckanut Bay Rugby Club proudly announces that two of its alumni, Jack Wendling and Jake Broselle, will take the field in this weekend’s Premier Rugby Sevens (PR7s) All-Star Tournament in Portland, Oregon. The event, scheduled for Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Providence Park, will be live-streamed on the PR7s YouTube channel, showcasing some of the best rugby talent in the world.

Jack Wendling, a Squalicum High School graduate and a USA 7s capped Eagle, has been named to the USA Men’s 7s National Team roster. A Chuckanut player since first grade, Wendling has represented the USA in both 15s and 7s at the U20 and U23 levels. Jack credits much of his early development to Chuckanut coaches and fellow players from the club, who helped lay the foundation for his rugby career.

“It’s incredible to see Jack represent the USA on such a big stage,” said Todd Vasey, his Under-14 coach from Chuckanut. “He’s worked tirelessly, and his dedication is an inspiration for all our players.”

Jake Broselle, another Chuckanut standout, will play for the PR7s All-Stars team. Jake played several matches for Chuckanut's Steamers before becoming a leader at Arizona State University, where he captained the team. His inclusion in this elite tournament reflects his commitment and talent as a player.

The PR7s All-Star Tournament is a landmark event, bringing together Olympians, national team stars, and legends of the game. The USA Men’s and Women’s 7s teams will face off against PR7s All-Stars in fast-paced, 14-minute games. For Wendling, this marks his first home-soil competition since the Paris 2024 Olympics, where the USA Women’s team won a historic bronze medal
