In Memory of Rick Gilbert
1946-2023
Chuckanut Bay Rugby Club Geoduck from 1975-1981

Our Rugby community just lost a long-time member; Rick Gilbert (1946-2023). Rick grew up in Bellingham & attended UW where he played Rugby from 1966-1970 & was one of the original members of OPSB (1971-1974). Rick moved back to his hometown and played for Chuckanut Bay (1975-1981) Rick was a talented & competitive backline player with a high level of fitness. He was always an interesting one to seek out after a match as was intelligent & articulate as he loved Rugby and its camaraderie. Rick was involved in construction & business development and after retiring moved to Mexico and operate a restaurant/ beach club in Play Del Carmen.
