Try Rugby Event

4:30PM to 6PM at WWU Harrington Field
This event is for U12, U14, Stingrays (new HS Girls Team) and the Steamers (HS Boys Team).
4:30 to 4:35
- Opening Remarks, Introduction of coaches 2 minutes
- Welcome to Chuckanut Rugby 45 seconds
- What is Rugby- 45 seconds
4:35 to 4:40 Explain to participants what about try rugby so they know what to expect
Direct participants to their age groups
4:40 to 4:50 - Touch rugby 2 hand touch** expect chaos
Tagged player goes to deck and presents ball (demo)
Penalty- offsides, knock ons
4:50 to 5:10 Pass & Catch (hands up, reach out to ball)
5:10 to 5:20 Defense drills (stay connected, stay in a line) start out with players holding hands
5:20 to 5:30- 3v2 grid (super fast paced)- players standing in line maybe 10 seconds or less
5:30 to 5:45 Touch game (give feedback on improvement) even needed break into smaller teams, teams not playing, given sideline instruction
5:45 to 6pm Closing remarks, answer any questions
